==About Normady SR-2==
===Mass Effect 2=== | |||
The Normandy SR-2 is a starship that features prominently in the Mass Effect 2 video game. It was built in 2185 by Cerberus, a human-survivalist paramilitary group, to aid Commander Shepard and his team in their mission to stop the Collectors' galaxy-wide campaign of human abductions. The ship serves as the headquarters of the Lazarus Cell, a Cerberus cell dedicated to the revival and support of Commander Shepard.
====Design and Construction====
The Normandy SR-2 was constructed in the Voyager Cluster at great expense. Its design is based on the Systems Alliance's SSV Normandy SR-1, the predecessor of the SR-2. However, the SR-2 is almost twice the mass of the original and includes more crew-oriented comforts, such as civilian-grade accommodations. Despite its increased size, the SR-2 retains the stealth characteristics of the SR-1. Due to its larger mass, the SR-2 cannot land on every planet, requiring shore parties to use a shuttle to reach a planet's surface.
====Internal Layout====
The Normandy SR-2 is divided into several decks, each serving a different function. The topmost deck, known as Deck 1, is the Captain's Cabin, which includes a full-sized bed, bathroom, office desk, standard furniture, and various other amenities. Deck 2 is the Combat Information Center, which houses the ship's bridge, research and tech labs, armory, briefing/communications room, and main airlock. Deck 3 is the Crew's Quarters, where the crew spends most of their downtime. Deck 4 is the Engineering deck, which houses the ship's Drive Core. The lowest deck, Deck 5, is the hangar, where the Kodiak shuttle and the M-44 Hammerhead tank are stored.
====Systems==== | |||
The Normandy SR-2 is equipped with many advanced systems, including stealth systems, a Tantalus Drive Core for faster-than-light travel, and various weapons and defenses. The ship also has an AI named EDI, which stands for Enhanced Defense Intelligence. EDI functions as the electronic warfare defense for the Normandy and serves as the eyes and ears of the Illusive Man, the leader of Cerberus, on the ship.
====Crew==== | |||
The crew of the Normandy SR-2 includes Commander Shepard, the commanding officer, and various other officers and crew members. Notable crew members include Miranda Lawson, the executive officer, Garrus Vakarian, the gunnery officer, and Tali'Zorah vas Neema, the chief engineer. The ship also has a number of minor crew members, including security officers and engineers.
===Mass Effect 3=== | |||
In Mass Effect 3, the Normandy SR-2 was initially intended to be the new mobile command center of Admiral David Anderson. However, the Reaper invasion of Earth resulted in Shepard being reinstated into the Alliance military and retaking command of the Normandy. The ship comes to the rescue of Shepard and Anderson when they are swarmed by Reaper forces, and after destroying the encroaching Reaper troops with a barrage of missiles, the Normandy extracts Shepard and flees just as Reaper reinforcements arrive.
Throughout the rest of the conflict, Shepard uses the Normandy as their home base, traveling across the stars in hopes of building alliances, taking the fight to the Reapers, Cerberus, and whatever other obstacles stand in the Commander's way. The ultimate goal is to defeat the Reapers via the Crucible, a superweapon whose plans were recovered from Mars.
====Internal Layout====
The Alliance retrofit of the Normandy SR-2 resulted in significant differences between the vessels. Most notably, Deck 2 has been significantly rearranged, with a War Room, Meeting Room and QEC being installed into the deck, while Deck 5 now serves as the new armory. The other decks have likewise been given an Alliance makeover and thus have changed to a substantial degree.
====Crew==== | |||
The crew of the Normandy SR-2 includes Commander Shepard, Lieutenant Commander Ashley Williams or Major Kaidan Alenko, Dr. Liara T'Soni, Garrus Vakarian, Tali'Zorah vas Normandy, Lieutenant James Vega, EDI, and Javik. Notable crew members include Flight Lieutenant Jeff "Joker" Moreau, Dr. Karin Chakwas or Dr. Chloe Michel, Lieutenant Greg Adams, Gabriella Daniels, Kenneth Donnelly, Lieutenant Steve Cortez, Specialist Samantha Traynor, and Diana Allers.

Normandy SR-2 Ship Build guide created by the redditor /u/Bizzle94588. The Ship is from the popular games franchise Mass Effect.
Introduction
Not only is this ship strong and fast, but the best thing about it is that it can be built at perk level ZERO in Piloting and Starship Design with the exception of 2 modules that I used from a Spacer ship I commandeered and used as the base.
Top, Front and Back Views
Before We Begin - A Few Notes
- I find this ship works best as a Class A Ship. It's fast, it's strong, and it gets the job done as a fighter or cruiser. You can upgrade to a Class B reactor for stronger shields and weapons, with little to no downside, but it's not necessary. Upgrading engines to Class B engines actually makes it slower and less mobile due to the increased mass
- I built the ship first in Akila, then went to New Atlantis to change modules and add finishing touches
- The design isn't 100% accurate. It was nearly impossible to get many aspects of the Normandy just right due to limitations of the size and the parts available, so I did take some creative liberties with the general shape and design
- The most significant departures from the actual Normandy design are going to be the sleek curved shape of the main body, the length-to-width ratio limited by the game, the landing gears messing up the silhouette, and the tips of the engine wings aren't hollow structs
- I added some structural flair like thruster arrays, cowling, and windows for more Starfield immersion rather than Mass Effect accuracy
- The hab modules need to be laid out one layer at a time, back to front. Confirm the ship design and then go back to the ship designer and place the next layer. The habs are VERY finicky and have a weird way of connecting together if you do it all at once
- There's going to be a few weird gaps in the ship silhouette due to the parts available, but these can only be seen when really looking closely from the side and front of the ship
- Balancing the ship's jump range, mobility, mass, and cargo space has been a huge limitation. I tried to make the ship functional and attractive
- The list of the modules will go in order from the front of the ship to the back layer by layer
- * Denotes the part is available at New Atlantis
- ** Denotes the part is available at Akila City
- *** Denotes the part was found on the base Spacer ship I commandeered, so you might have to find a substitute for it
