Any physical damage, whether from melee weapons, projectiles, explosions, or creatures, is absorbed by the shield as long as it holds. However, the shield's strength is finite and each impact depletes it further until penetration or complete failure. Reactive Shield mitigates threat, buying the player precious time. It allows maneuvering through withering enemy fire or standing toe-to-toe with powerful creatures while their attacks glace off harmlessly. Players can wait out the enemy's onslaught or retaliate from the safety of the barrier. But once the shield finally fails, the player is fully vulnerable again.
