In Their Footsteps is the mission 13 of Main Mission.
Walkthrough
As you warp into the orbit of Oborum III, you're instantly hailed by a mysterious figure known as the Hunter. His ship, the Scorpius, is floating nearby in the planet’s orbit. Accept the hail and agree to dock for a conversation. Navigate your ship towards the Scorpius and initiate the docking sequence. As you lock into place and disembark, it's clear that this is no ordinary rendezvous.
Walking through the internal chambers of the Scorpius, you'll eventually come face-to-face with the Hunter and another intriguing character, the Emissary. During the ensuing conversation, you have complete freedom in how you choose to respond. Whether you’re diplomatic or confrontational, the conversation will steer you toward the larger implications of your recent discoveries.
After this initial exchange, you have the option to further engage with both the Hunter and the Emissary. This isn't mandatory, but if you’re someone who loves diving deep into lore or are just intrigued by these mysterious figures, take this opportunity to dig a little deeper.
Finally, it's time to depart the Scorpius. Retrace your steps back towards the ship's entrance. Just when you think you’re clear, the Emissary intercepts you for one last interaction. In a subtle yet highly significant moment, they hand you a key. This isn’t just any key; it’s an essential item you’ll need for one of the upcoming missions. The Emissary's enigmatic demeanor leaves you pondering their true intentions, but there's no time for that now.
With the key in your possession, you successfully exit the Scorpius and make your way back to your own vessel. The mission, In Their Footsteps, concludes as you break away from the Scorpius and return to the galaxy at large, leaving you with more questions than answers and a newfound anticipation for the missions that lie ahead.
Tips and Tricks
Objectives
Hail the Scorpius
- Grav Jump to Oborum III in the system Oborum Prime.
- Fly up to the Scorpius and the Hunter will speak with you over the radio and ask you how you found him.
- He will then introduce you to the Emissary. Both of the Starborn invite you on their ship to talk.
Dock with the Scorpius
- Select the option to dock on the Scorpius.
- Leave your ship and enter the Scorpius.
- Walk through the hallway to where the Starborn are waiting for you.
Talk to the Hunter
- Speak with the Hunter. He will formally introduce you to the Emissary. Apparently you've run into him before.
- Each of the Starborn will explain their story and reasoning for collecting the artifacts.
- They will then tell you that they are familiar faces from different dimensions.
- Once they finished they will let you know that you can turn around to leave.
[Optional] Talk to the Emissary
- The Emissary will give you more information about himself. Seems he wants to join sides.
[Optional] Talk to the Hunter
- Just like the Emissary, the Hunter tells you he is interested in working together.
Leave the Scorpius
- If you chose to talk to the Starborn (or if you don't) you can now leave the Scorpius to get back to your starship.
Talk to the Emissary
- As you are leaving the Emissary will stop you one more time and tell you about the Moon that orbits Earth. The Starborn says that there is information that we can gather if we travel to the Moon.
- He then gives you a key that will allow you to get into the Nova Galactic Research Station on the Moon.
- Leave the Starborn ship to complete the mission!
