Throughout your travels you will find resources you can use to modify and upgrade weapons. These are found in the Resources section of your inventory and not Miscellaneous.
To modify and upgrade weapons, you need to locate and access a Weapons Workbench.
Weapons Workbench
These stations can be found throughout your travels. You can interact with these stations by using [A] on Xbox controller or [E] on PC.
Modifications
Once you have accessed the Weapons Workbench, you will see a list of available modifications.
Some weapons have multiple Mod Slots for some components. You can view the different available modifications by using [A] on Xbox controller or [E] on PC.
Resources
Once you have selected the modification, you will see the necessary resources on the right hand side of the menu. You can Install the selected modification by using [A] on Xbox controller or [E] on PC.

Viewing Installed Modifications
Once you have installed the modification, you will see it on the Mods list in the crafting menu.
